Former Director of Customer Experience with Guardian Protection, Deb Moretti was involved in the formation, development, and daily management of the Customer Experience function for this successful integrator. Now, Deb brings her diverse experience, which also included Sales, Operations and Administration, to provide customized CX programs for MacGuard clients.
Bill Graham
Formerly of Guardian Protection, Bill Graham was responsible for overseeing the development of Guardian’s Builder Division, spearheading the creation and expansion of its Builder Program to the largest full-service integrator in the country, with over 50,000 rooftops.
Joy Curtiss
Joy Curtiss is a veteran marketer with more than 18 years of experience in the security industry. She directed marketing teams at several top electronic security organizations that included CASI-RUSCO, GE Security, and United Technologies with her most recent role as Director of Strategic Marketing, Global Security Products. Prior to working in the security business, Joy held positions in advertising, as well as creative services for a leading publisher and event management company.

Kirk MacDowell founded MacGuard Security Systems in 1982 as a bespoke alarm integration company.
In addition to his vast Security expertise, Kirk's early career was spent in law enforcement with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s’ Department, where he retired with the rank of Reserve Lieutenant.

Meet Our Founder, Kirk
After four decades in the electronic security industry where he held leadership positions at cloud innovator Alarm.com, top Fortune 100 manufacturers General Electric and United Technologies, a top 50 SDM integrator, and his own electronic security firm, Kirk MacDowell founded MacGuard Security Advisors, a full service consulting firm with award winning offerings.
A sought-after industry speaker, he remains active in many associations serving on numerous industry and private company boards. Kirk was a past Board of Director of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and The Monitoring Association (TMA), past Chairman of AIREF (Alarm Industry Research & Education Foundation), former Chairman of the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), and past president of the Los Angeles County Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (LABFAA). Kirk currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Electronic Security Association (ESA), and Chairs ESA’s Leadership Identification and Nominating Committee (LINC). He also serves on the Editorial Board for Security Sales and Integration (SS&I) and Commercial Integrator magazines.
Kirk received two prestigious awards in 2023 including the William N. Moody Award and the Sara E. Jackson Award for his service to the industry. He was also named ESA’s Morris F. Weinstock Person of the Year. In 2024, Kirk was honored as a Top 40 Global Thought Leader in Security & Life Safety, received the SIAC Chairman’s Award, and was inducted into Security Sales & Integration’s 2024 Industry Hall of Fame. His most recent award was the California Alarm Association’s (CAA) George A. Weinstock Award for Lifetime Achievement and Service to the Industry.
